Volunteer with Grate Patrol

Grate Patrol serves our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C., offering hot meals, comfort, and care each night of the year. Volunteers are needed to cook, deliver, and distribute approximately 120 evening meals, either as one-time helpers or as part of a monthly group commitment. Support is also welcomed through donations of hygiene kits, winter items, or monetary gifts. The canteen departs from The Salvation Army Sherman Avenue location around 6:15 p.m. and returns by 9:00 p.m., making 6–8 stops throughout downtown D.C. Please click here to learn more and volunteer
