Thanks to Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, the WSSC Water Fund is available to assist families living in Maryland who are experiencing difficulties paying their water bills. Created in 1994 by WSSC Water employees, the WSSC Water Fund helps residential customers in financial need pay their water/sewer bills. Since its inception, more than $1.9 million has been distributed to more than 20,000 people in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties to assist in payments.
In the FY2021, the Water Fund provided life’s most precious resource to 4,000 of our neighbors through the distribution of nearly $514,000.
Monetary donations from WSSC customers, employees, and community members support the Water Fund. 100% of all donations go directly to those in need.
The Salvation Army assists clients and manages the fund, while WSSC Water pays the administrative and promotional fees. This means 100 percent of all donations go directly to those in need.
