Addiction Treatment & Adult Rehabilitation

No one is beyond hope, and we believe every person has infinite value, which is why we offer addiction treatment services to those in need of help without discrimination.

In the National Capital area, The Salvation Army operates Harbor Light Center, located in Northeast Washington, and two Adult Rehabilitation Centers, one in Northern Virginia and the other in suburban Maryland. All three programs aim to provide a safe and healthy environment in which our clients may examine their core values and address their issues.

Harbor Light Center offers residential, outpatient, and transitional programs to men and women, ages 18 and over, that provide a full range of addiction treatment services. Typically, clients stay between 60 days to 24 months. Nearly 60% of those enrolled in the 180-day plan complete the program. For those involved in the optional religious component, the completion rate rises to 90%.

The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers offer hope to men who have experienced chronic homelessness and joblessness due to substance abuse issues. While overcoming their addiction, clients receive close guidance to avoid relapse and life skills to get back on their feet.
