Help us celebrate Christmas with The Salvation Army’s famous Red Kettles. Greet shoppers as they fill the kettles this season with their contributions to help our most needy. Kettles are located at grocery and retail stores throughout the area, and we can work with you to find the best location for you. The campaign runs on November 10th – December 23rd, every Monday – Saturday from 10 AM – 8 PM.
This is a great opportunity for families to teach young children about volunteering and for students needing community service hours or service learning for school. There must be one volunteer age 18+ at each kettles – no age restriction on other volunteers!

Angel Tree is a holiday gift-matching program all across the US. Here in our area, because of sponsors and volunteers like you, The Salvation Army provided more than 6,000 families in the National Capital Areawith holiday assistance in 2016. That’s nearly 14,000 children in our community who got to open Christmas presents. Your Angel Tree gifts and time volunteered made a world of difference in the lives of these kids and their families.
It takes an army of people to unload, sort, and distribute toys and gifts to local Angel Tree children on time. You can help with Angel Tree 2017.
We need 40-100 volunteers per day at our gift warehouse and other facilities the entire month of December. Online registration and contact information is now live!Click here for more information and to sign up.

The Salvation Army could not fulfill its mission as effectively without the assistance of dedicated volunteers who share their skills and time to enhance our programs. We have one-time, short-term, and long-term opportunities for individuals and groups at locations throughout DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.
