The Salvation Army could not fulfill its mission as effectively without the assistance of dedicated volunteers who share their skills and time to enhance our programs.
We have one-time, short-term, and long-term opportunities for individuals and groups.
Administrative Volunteers or Interns Needed
Spring Gardening and Landscaping Projects
Join us to clean up our overgrown vegetable beds and garden areas at locations around the region. This opportunity includes pulling weeds, trimming and mulching around sitting areas, etc. Please remember to wear clothes that can get dirty! All gardening supplies will be provided.
We always have spaces in need of a fresh coat of paint? This includes apartments for previously homeless moms with kids, our rehabilitation center, local centers, and more. A fresh coat of paint goes a long way. Please remember to wear clothes that can get paint on them! All painting supplies will be provided.
Emergency Disaster Services Team Training
The Salvation Army is on the front lines during emergencies and disasters, and we need our Nation's Capital to be prepared.
Consider joining our Emergency and Disaster Services Volunteer Team and get trained to be deployed during local or national disasters. We will provide lunch for all participants as well as a basic, entry-level training. This event will take place at The Arlington Corps, located at 518 S. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA. Free parking is available and the location is also Metrobus accessible.
