50% Tax Credit for Virginia Donors

Tax credits may be available to Virginia donors who meet certain eligibility requirements. The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command (NCAC) has been approved to receive $15,600 in funds to award as tax credits as part of Virginia’s Neighborhood Assistance Program in its 2015-2016 year. The purpose of the program is to encourage giving to nonprofit organizations that provide important social services to Virginia’s low-income residents. Funds are limited and restrictions apply.

Who can apply to The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command for a 50% tax credit in tax year 2015?

  • Any returning Virginia donor whose increased gift to the Salvation Army is $2,000 or more or any new Virginia donor giving $2,000 or more. Gifts must be made between July 1- December 31 2015.

The donation of your gift is not a guarantee of a tax credit. The program is administered on a first come first serve basis. Completed forms must be received by The Salvation Army to be sent for tax credit approval.  They are contingent upon available funds.
