The ministry of The Salvation Army to veterans has grown from serving coffee and doughnuts in World War I to providing programs of comfort and cheer.

In the National Capital Area Command local units provide support and resources to veteran and their families experiencing economic hardship as they make the transition from military to civilian life. From rent and utility assistance to programs for their children, veterans can call on The Salvation Army to meet their families’ needs.

If you are a veteran in need, we encourage you to reach out to your local Salvation Army Corps.
