The Salvation Army’s Cornerstone Transitional Housing Program offers transitional living for single (unmarried) homeless woman and single (unmarried) homeless mothers with children. The program is designed to house families for up to two years while clients gain skills to become independent and self-sufficient.
The goal of Cornerstone Transitional Housing Program is to break the cycle of chronic homelessness and joblessness by offering an environment that will prepare women and their families for independent living. The program is strongly committed to the involvement of the residents themselves as full partners in the decision-making that affects their lives and the lives of their children.
Cornerstone offers it residents various program services to assist them in becoming self sufficient such as:
- independent living skills
- case management services
- credit repair
- spirituality development activities
- relationship development
- individual and group counseling
- educational and/or career goals
