Six years ago, a community in need gave birth to a vision of hope: the Solomon G. Brown Corps Community Center. Home to multiple community partners, inside the five-story building the most critical needs this Southeast DC community are being met.
S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat) offers job training skills to men and women for a variety of careers.
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Assistance Program is mending spirits broken by poverty, with food donations and financial support to keep the family fed and under one roof. The center's chapel gives everyone in the community the opportunity to worship, study and fellowship programs throughout the week.
