The 2nd annual Blue Tie Ball will be held on Saturday October 26, 2019 at The Hotel at the University of Maryland – College Park, MD.
Proceeds from the Blue Tie Ball will steadfastly benefit WSSC’s Water Fund administered by the Salvation Army National Capital Area, to provide emergency assistance to Prince George’s and Montgomery County residents, who are unable to pay their water bill.
Since 1994, the Water Fund has provided financial assistance to over 3,600 customers and has disbursed more than $1.275M in funding. This fund has become ever more important in recent times, with the uncertainty that loomed during the government shutdown. WSSC responded by waving late fees and provided uninterrupted service to those who were potentially facing financial crisis.
You may not know that WSSC is among the largest water and wastewater utilities in the nation, with a service area that spans nearly 1,000 square miles throughout Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in Maryland. With service to 1.8 million residents, across approximately 475,000 customer accounts, WSSC drinking water has always met or exceeded federal standards.
