“We are excited to announce that our 2nd annual Diamond Gala will be held Saturday, March 9th. The Gala will be hosted at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington D.C. with receptions for the event starting at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30. CBS News White House Correspondent, Major Garret will be the Master of the Ceremony.

The Diamond Gala’s mission is to raise awareness of the problem of Human Trafficking. Along with our Human Trafficking Program, all proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the multitude of programs that the Salvation Army offers. There will be opportunities at the Gala to help support programs like the Harbor Light Center, Grate Patrol, Turning Point Center and many more.

This year’s guest speaker will be Stacy Jewell, a human trafficking victim and survivor. Jewell was only nineteen years old when abducted, held hostage and forced into the dark world of sex slavery. Jewell escaped the life at twenty-one after years of abuse, manipulation and fear. She now makes it her mission to combat human trafficking by heightening awareness of the problem through her passion of the performing arts.
