Took Crowell believed that every member of an organization should give back to the community. The co-founder of Crowell & Moring made giving to the less fortunate part of the culture at the international law firm with offices in DC. The seeds of giving planted by Mr. Crowell grew into a strong 25-year relationship with The Salvation Army benefitting families in need.
The dedicated attorney and professional staff at Crowell & Moring help more than 100 families each year through the Angel Tree Program, The Salvation Army’s Christmas assistance program benefitting local children. Crowell & Moring purchases toys and gifts for girls and boys whose parents cannot afford to buy them anything. Members of the firm also donate their time at the Angel Tree warehouse – helping to organize and, ultimately, distributing gifts to families.
Crowell & Moring’s Angel Tree Coordinator Karen Lee says, “Some people would say the families are lucky to have people like us to help, but we are the lucky ones to be able to give back to our community.” Karen said it is a joy to see the parents (or guardians) of these Angels and the firm’s staff greatly enjoys participating in the (Angel Tree) program and will for years to come.
The Salvation Army is grateful to Took Crowell for his vision to give back, and the staff at Crowell & Moring for doing the most good for those most in need.
